Safety Protocol for At-VAM Courses

We take our VAMily’s safety and health seriously. If you choose to take a course at VAM, here is what you can expect.

On September 14, 2021, the Government of Ontario released regulations and guidance for proof of vaccination to enter certain facilities. In accordance with the law, Visual Arts Mississauga will require proof of vaccination for all students and staff ages 12 and over to attend at-VAM programs. For links to government pages Click Here

While some students ages 12 and older may be exempt for medical reasons, we do not feel that we are able to accommodate unvaccinated persons at this time. Please call the office or email info@visualartsmississauga.com for more information. Students ages 12 and younger are exempt.

All students and staff must wear a face mask that securely covers the nose, mouth and chin as required under the City of Mississauga by-law no. 0169-2020. There are no exceptions. The By-law can be found HERE.

A COVID Health Screening questionnaire will emailed to you ahead of each class. Please fill it out and either show the You Can Go – sign from your phone or print the page out. If you are experiencing symptoms or answer “yes” to any of the screening questions, please stay home. COVID questionnaire can be found HERE! If you do not have a cell phone or printer, paper copies will be made available.

Students will be allowed into the building 15 minutes before the start of class.

VAM will maintain a clean and sanitized building. The City of Mississauga will clean the washroom area throughout the day. In the VAM building, staff will disinfect high-touch surfaces in common areas door handles, sink taps, and light switches between classes and the building will be fully cleaned nightly by a professional cleaning service. With the exception of the washroom area, only students and VAM staff will be allowed into the VAM building
Hand sanitizer stations will be situated in each studio and in the hallway.

Maximum class size per studio will be 10 students plus one instructor. Each student will be assigned their own table and chair for the duration of the course. Students may not visit other studios or linger in the hallway.

For students taking morning and afternoon classes, food can only be eaten in the studio at your assigned table or outside the building, not in the hallway.

For classes that include supplies – students will receive their own supply kit to use for the duration of the class. Any shared supplies will be disinfected after use.

As always, if you have any questions, please email us at info@visualartsmississauga.com
