Teen Classes - FALL

Ages 13 - 16

March 16-20, 2009

                       Fall classes begin Monday  September 22nd, 2008
                       NOTE:  Classes not running Monday October 13,2008                   (Thanksgiving Day)
                          
Fee includes all supplies. Sessions are 8 weeks in length

Acrylics

Students learn techniques, colour and composition, exploring a new subjects each week. Students will paint on canvas, masonite , paper
Portfolio Preparation This course will introduce the basic drawing skills necessary for successful comics, cartoon and fantasy drawing. Emphasis will be placed on the structure of the human body, character design, page layout, inking and lettering techniques.

Drawing

The student will experiment with a variety of techniques of drawing eg. light and shadow and perspective.  Still life, florals, animals, life drawing will be explored through a variety of media.

Fashion Design

Have fun seeing your fashion ideas come to life! Learn how to make a finished drawing using a pre-drawn figure and painting it with watercolour. Other activities: accessories, an ad, labels, face & men's fashion.

All the Works

This diverse media course will have your exploring and creating in acrylics, collage, pastels, watercolour and more.
Graphic Novel Illustration

This course will introduce the student to the concepts of drawing realistically from the imagination and the structure of graphic narrative.  Included among the topics to be covered will be construction of the heroic figure, perspective, page layout and lettering. 

Graphic Story-telling: Graphic Novels, Comics and Fantasy Illustration

Level I

This course will introduce the student to the concepts of drawing realistically from the imagination and the structure of graphic narrative.  Included among the topics to be covered will be construction of the heroic figure, perspective, page layout and lettering.

 

Level II

This level will develop the student’s skills in drawing and story-telling.  Students will be expected to devise their own storylines, create characters and tell a story of several pages duration.  It is important that Level I be completed before moving on to this level.

 

Life Drawing Workshop This workshop is designed to provide students applying to Universities in the province with the required samples of life drawing , which most of these institutions now stipulate. Work with a live model during the day.
