Leslie Penney-Mosher was just 51 years old when she lost her courageous battle with cancer. Loving wife to Keith Mosher and daughter to Carole Woodward, Leslie spent her life being a wonderful friend and inspirational daughter.
Established by friends and family as a lasting memorial, the Leslie Penney-Mosher Fund ensures children in Peel Region are given the gift of a day camp art adventure over the summer months regardless of economic status.
Research has proven that participation in a creative enviroment builds confidence and imagination. Every child deserves this right. VAM's children’s art programming in the summer revolves around a variety of art forms including drawing, painting, printmaking, clay sculpture, collage, world crafts and much more making it an ideal catalyst for unleashing one's creative potential.
Over the summer months of 2010, 17 children were offered a one week camp scholarship to attend VAM's Art Camp. Developed through partnership with area school boards, VAM relies on an anonymous recommendation coming from school Principals to assist in the best distribution of scholarships.
Visual Arts Mississauga encourages support from the community to help reach the goals of the Leslie Penney-Mosher Fund. All donations are most welcomed and those over $10 recieve a receipt for charitable purposes.
