ArtReach is an exciting program offered by Visual Arts Mississauga designed as an opportunity for schools and community groups to experience the exciting world of Visual Arts through the exploration of a variety of techniques through diversified media. ArtReach invites schools, Community Groups, Teachers, Corporate Retreats, Birthday parties and Special Events to participate in the Ontario Curriculum based ArtReach activities which include an array of drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media and more.

Schools - Kindergarten to Grade 12

 Invite our artist/instructor to your school or visit us at our new location.  Our programs are 1 1/2 hours in duration, includes all art materials and can be linked to your students current area of study.

 Cost - $9.00 per student per one session, with the exception of extended programs - call for details  Book 10 or more and receive a free OFF THE WALLZ mural program - value of $5000

Choose from the following programs

Sculpture

  • Air dry clay sculpture - animals and habitats 

  • Fired/glazed clay sculpture - extended session  animals or  First Nations

  • Clay relief tile - Ancient culture

  • Papier Mache relief - extended session -portrait or animal

Printmaking

  • Collograph printmaking - flag banner- religion, festivals and  celebrations

  • Linocut printmaking- self-portrait

  • Aquarelle monoprint - still life or abstract

  • Simple relief printmaking-totem pole - First Nations legends

Watercolour

  • Watercolour techniques and landscape

  • Watercolour techniques and abstract or intuitive painting

  • Watercolour mixed media portrait

Drawing

  • Sketching workshop- make a sketchbook and practice drawing exercises

  • Observational Drawing workshop - collective work  and extreme close-ups

  • Chalk pastel landscape

  • Charcoal self-portrait

Painting and Mixed Media

  • Impasto painting - Group of 7 inspired Canadian rural landscape

  • Acrylic/collage, mixed media - Canadian Urban landscape

  • Acrylic/Collage- extended session "cultural quilt" - Immigration and emigration

  • Illustration -"word to image" - literacy, comprehension

  • Woodland Style Painting - First Nations inspiration acrylic painting or oil pastel

  • Eric Carle style Collage/painting for junior grades - literacy /comprehension

  • Landscape - tempera banner on cloth

Special

  • Metal tooling, embossed foil panels- religion, festivals, multicultural

  • Maskmaking - First Nations or animal studies

 

 

 

Birthday Parties 

  Choose an art activity to be lead by one of our professional artists in our studios.  We provide all the art supplies while you supply the snacks and cake afterwards.  Choose a theme to suit your child's special interests.

Cost $16.00 per student

For Corporate Groups

 What better setting to host your corporate event than our bright and airy studio location surrounded by lush vegetation and wildlife.  After your morning meeting and leisurely lunch let our professional artists guide you through an afternoon of creative exploration.

  • Watercolour Landscape Painting

  • Chalk Pastel

  • Clay Sculpture - relief tile

Teacher Professional Development Workshops

"Realize your creative potential"

Enjoy a variety of artistic exercises which will improve your drawing and observation skills through a series of unique and imaginative studies and take home one finished art project.
