this magical creative journey. In our time together, you will reclaim
the childhood art of playfulness and discover that this never
ending
reverie is fodder for glorious designs, extraordinary paintings!
With the rich beauty of fluid and heavy-body acrylics dancing on canvas,
this painting adventure might leave you quite breathless. And that's a
good thing!
Please feel free to bring any fluid
AND heavy-body acrylics you have, making sure your palette contains
the colours listed below under A Basic Palette. I have both
fluid and heavy-body acrylics in these colours, manufactured by Golden
Artist Colours.
A Basic Palette:
Primary Magenta
Primary Yellow
Primary Cyan
Titanium White
Carbon Black
Titan Buff
Brushes:
Large brushes, e.g. 1" and 2" (from hardware store, plus old watercolour
brushes (all sizes) are great). Also, palette knives if you wish and/or
any other utensils with which to push paint around.
Paper/Canvas:
2 sheets –140 lb. Lana or Arches hot press.
(plus as many canvasses as you wish)
Other:
- sketch book and pencil
- jar of molding paste
- spray bottle for water
- plastic sheet or garbage bags to protect tables and floor
- plastic containers for water
- apron to protect your clothing
- styrofoam picnic plates (great for mixing paints)
- waxed paper, paper towels, and old toweling
- an open mind and a free spirit !!!
N.B. We will be
doing at least two paintings a day as well as many painting exercises so
make sure you bring enough paper and canvas

Born in Montreal, Quebec, Claudia Jean
McCabe studied at the Ontario College of Art & Design, The Royal Ontario
Museum, and at George Brown College of Applied Arts and Technology.
After years in the corporate world, she officially launched her career
as a painter in March 1991. She has participated in numerous solo,
featured, group, and juried exhibitions over the years and her works
have been published in both Canada and the US.

An elected member of the Society of
Canadian Artists, Claudia is also a graphic designer, teacher, and
dreamer, whose painting workshops are popular throughout southern
Ontario. This award-winning artist is represented in Canada by the
Sandra Whitten Gallery, Kingston; Buckingham Fine Art Ltd., Uxbridge;
Meta4 Gallery, Port Perry; and Perivale Gallery, Manitoulin Island. Her
paintings are held in private, corporate and government collections
worldwide.
