Growing up in Perth, Ontario, situated in the Ottawa Valley, has left an imprint on her heart that is reflected in her art.   Ann stated, “I often wish that I could step back in time and I guess my work reflects that.”  Old stone architecture and rustic barns are featured  in many of her landscapes while antique vases and lace are favored subject matter in a still life.

Nostalgia is only one aspect of her repertoire, she is a diverse artist who can bring any subject matter to life.  Her landscapes evoke a mood and atmosphere while her floral paintings are bold, and masterful.

Her background as an award winning art director & designer gives her work a strong sense of design and composition.

Ann studied Art and Graphic Design at St. Lawrence College in Kingston, Ontario and moved to Toronto in 1975 to pursue a career.  She worked in the advertising industry for 15 years.

She has worked in various mediums but became seriously ‘hooked’ on watercolour in 1989, and has studied with many prominent artists since that time.  She has had numerous solo shows, her paintings are held in corporate and private collections throughout Canada, United States and Europe.

In 1993, Ann began teaching art classes.  She conducts her classes in an informal atmosphere leading to a relaxed, stress-free, enjoyable experience.

She teaches watercolour and drawing at Visual Arts Mississauga and Sheridan College in Oakville.

Ann’s work has been featured n Peel Mutual Insurance Company’s 2003 Calendar, Bereaved Families of Ontario’s 2004 Christmas card and has appeared in such publications as Canadian Gardening Magazine and the Globe & Mail.
